This poster was placed inside a designated poster stand just outside the Thun train station at an eye-level bus stop. This poster is distinctly post modern with it's conceptual, in-your-face nature and general 'no rules' mentality. While the type shows slight international influence, it defies convention by placing the lines on an angle; adding to the unusual nature of the imagery. The concept seems to be to inform the customer that they have the best deals on all networks. What exactly is being sold or informed is very vague based on the image alone. More than anything, the idea seems to be for the viewer to question the very nature of the poster itself. The imagery was produced with a combination of photography and digital manipulation. The 55-5-5 rule applies here quite well. From 55 feet the viewer can distinctly see a human form that defies the rules of convention. This draws us in closer to investigate what is really happening and from 5 inches you pick up the tiny bits of writing running along the left hand side under the toilet paper. What attracted me to this was the unusually morbid, almost dirty look. Compared to many of the other posters around town, with their clean-cut looks and bright colors, this was one of the true departures from what I've started to notice as the norm. The poster is definitely successful in drawing attention. It's kind of hard to avoid noticing a shark-man flushing himself down a toilet... yet I have to wonder how successful this poster might be in it's intended purpose.
