Caribana festival

This poster was on a corner in Vevey. It was in a quieter neighborhood and not a main street.
The movement that may correlate with this poster the most would have to be the Early Swiss Posters. I like it because it has the 19th century circus feel with the type and illustration. It's a scantily clad woman spinning on a giant record while yelling out the names of a dozen or more bands that will be playing at the festival. It's function is to primarily advertise the festival and the bands that will play ( they made sure every single band was on the poster) Secondly there is information to get to the festival and get a ticket etc.
This poster was illustrated. I wish they would have put a little more texture into it. It may be my personal preference but it would have been better if it looked a little worn around the edges and aged. The Caribana logo at the top attracts attention from 55 feet as does the woman. The names of the bands could only be read at 5 feet or less. Details like the flames, sponsors and additional information could be appreciated at 5 inches, although texture would have made this distance even more interesting.
