I spotted this poster on the walk back from the Wocher-Panarama in Thun. It stood on the side of the street as an advertisement for an event. The artists use of color and the somewhat chaotic layout caught my eye.

I would say this poster fits into either the Postmodern or International Style. International, because despite the chaos, the text is laid out somewhat mathematically. However, looking at the other features, this poster fits the criteria of being conceptual, layered and complex, as well as playful and spontaneous.

The cow in the foreground is a fairly abstracted illustration, along with the landscape in the background. The 55-5-5 rule applies by the fact that your attention can be caught at a further distance but as you approach the advertisement, the intentions of it are made more clear.

The artist made this poster successful by tying the colors together and organizing all that is involved. I think they were also successful in catching and keeping the viewers attention.
