La Prehistoire

This is another poster found in Lausanne along the street on a poster standee. It is advertising an exhibition at a museum of archeology. This poster seems to be influenced by the object poster era in that it is very simplistic, minimal and to the point. There is nothing here to entertain really other than a simple illustration. Its black and white as well which makes it extra simple. It also seems to be influenced by the pre-historic art age ;-). I think the concept here is to show how life, art, and the creations from which the exhibition are taken where also very simple and primitive. They wanted this poster to also be primitive to give that feeling. The imagery is an illustration, maybe a painting but could be a simple illustration by pen blown up to a large scale. Im not sure if the poster would catch your attention from far away, though the illustration is large enough to be seen from a distance. The small information can only be read from up close though, so id say its semi-successful with the 55-5-5 rule. Its simplicity attracted me. I don't think that it is a extremely interesting or eye catching but I like that it has a message and says it quickly and to the point.
