Nottingale Football 08

This poster was located on a bulletin board at eye level in the Lausanne train station. Once again sans serif typefaces and a small use of a grid give it a slight international style influence while being complimented with an image that is of the postmodern style. The concept is to advertise a festival for football(soccer) games where anyone can play or come to watch and dine and be entertained. This message is clearly portrayed in the illustration, showing a cartoon version of a town square filled with parades, music, and football. The image appears to have been produced on an illustrator program using 4 basic cool and warm colors. The 55/5/5 rule applies well in this poster. From a distance i was drawn to the imagery and curious as to what it contained. From 5 feet I saw that the poster was for an event and had the times and forms of entertainment listed below it. From 5 inches I noticed the tiny figures in the image and saw that they were enjoying themselves. Fine details are seen from up close with every single brick and shingle illustrated in the image. I was drawn to the poster because of its simplicity, individuality and color scheme. I believe it was successful for advertising the event, appealing to the viewer's desire to be entertained and for the swiss love of football.
