Photo poster

This poster was on a poster standee that was outside of the Swiss Camera Museum. It was at eye level in a cluster of 4 posters. This poster is a Photomontage and a little International Style. Using black and white instead of color makes it a Photomontage and the fact that it is a photograph instead of a drawing is influenced by the International Style. The function of this poster is to motivate people to go and see the Swiss Camera Museum. It is clever to have a picture of a photographer in the poster because the people who would be interested in going to this museum would be attracted to the fact that the main focus is a man with their same interests. This is a photograph that has been overlapped with the text digitally. From 55 feet the old fashion style catches peoples eyes along with the red writing against the black and white. From 5 feet you can see that it says Musee Photo which gives you what they are advertising. And from 5 inches you can see the dates, websites and other information about the museum. I really liked this photo because it was old fashioned. Also you can tell that the man is very passionate about his photography because of the effort he is willing to put into his photographs, and that is what really is going to attract a photographer. It is a great poster but I think that the location could have been better. It was right outside of the museum that it was advertising which seems pointless to me because the people are already there at the museum. They should advertise it further away from the exhibit so that people who aren't in its area know that it exists.
